With a southern heart and a spicy accent, Perpignan looks towards Spain and the Orient, an eye on its past, a smile on its future … Plane trees and palm trees coexist along wide avenues flooded with sunlight. Their shadows make the beautiful sculptures of Maillol dance, proud in the hollow of a courtyard or some little square where a marble fountain sings. The haughty splendor of the Kings of Mallorca dominates the popular alleys overflowing with spices, fruits or fish, with a thousand flavors and scents from elsewhere …

Capital of the Pyrénées-Orientales, Perpignan is also undoubtedly the capital of the Catalan Country! From the Patio du Père Pigne you can walk into the historic heart of the city of the Kings of Majorca. From the Notre Dame du Castillet gate to the jewel of Gothic art, the Saint-Jean cathedral; from the Miranda Gardens of the Saint-Jacques Church to the Hyacinthe Rigaud Museum where Picasso stayed; from the Mediterranean Market in Place République to the splendours of the Hotel Pams; without forgetting the picturesque streets and squares bathed in sunshine.

But Perpignan is also the evenings in the Vauban halls, tapas bars on Avenue Leclerc, Street Arts festivals, VISA for photojournalism, Mediterranean, classical or jazz music without forgetting the sardanas to the sound of la cobla on summer evenings….
You can also quickly access the beaches of Torreilles, the Bocal du Tech in Argeles sur Mer. The Dali Museum in Figueras, his house in Port LLigat or Barcelona are not far away ….
